Public prejudice cost us charity tax break, Freemasons complain...

The Freemasons are deserving of charity and their wealth is just a myth, the Grand Lodge Secretary has claimed as the organisation reels from a recent tax tribunal defeat.
The Grand Lodge was deemed not “philanthropic” enough to qualify for a multimillion-pound tax break, despite coming second only to the National Lottery as a charitable giver.
Nigel Brown, the Grand Secretary of the Freemasons, has criticised last week’s ruling and suggested that the “myths surrounding Freemasonry” may have “skewed the ruling”.
