Dash cam reveals more about party at Masonic Lodge

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3)
Exclusive dash cam video shows what police say is a bigger problem surrounding what's been called an 'out of control' sex party at Battle Creek's Masonic Lodge late last month. Battle Creek Police now say that charges will be submitted in connection to the party last month.
Newschannel 3 was the first to break the story, that's now made news around the globe. The Freemasons are apologizing to all of the citizens of Battle Creek, and are very concerned about the bad impressions the incident may have left behind.
The Freemasons say they're working to gain their good reputation back, after Battle Creek Police busted a party in the early morning hours of August 25th. Officers described being flagged over by people in the doorway of the temple, and walking in on a couple performing a lewd sex act and finding women dancing on stage, totally nude, while a man was capturing it on camera. "We are fully committed to assisting the police in their investigation, and will offer any support we can," said Robert Conley of the Grand Lodge of Michigan.
Police plan to submit indecent exposure charges against 4 of the women. It's unclear if they will be filed as a city or state offense. But city leaders say they also see a bigger problem at work. Sitting right next door to the police department, officers were called to the Masonic Lodge more than a dozen times that weekend alone. Many of the calls surrounded fights in the parking lot, such as one captured on police dash cam during a party in a space rented at the lodge the night before. A police report shows a woman was pepper sprayed after causing a disturbance.
A Freemason told Newschannel 3 that renters paid $900 to hold the party that unfortunately spiraled out of control. A statement signed by four area temple leaders said, "We have made the decision to stop renting our hall to outside groups until we have reviewed and updated our policies." The statement also adds that no Masons were in attendance the night of the event. But we did learn from police that at least two Freemasons were outside the facility in the parking lot to try and maintain order.
