"Peron was a Mason," he said Licio Gelli who was one of the most influential men of Italy and the world thanks to the links Propaganda Due (P2), the organization that spearheaded dark. He is credited with involvement in attacks, coups and the Banco Ambrosiano scandal, but was always dismissed.
Licio Gelli's voice comes across the phone line from his home in Villa Wanda, in the town of Arezzo, Italy.
It sounds old-looking, but everything remains in his mind as a succession of slides: their memories of Argentina, the way she met Perón, how spread its influence over the third Peronist government through P2, its agreements with military dictatorship, his years as a fugitive from justice in European River Plate. "Peron was a Mason, I started in Madrid in Puerta de Hierro, in June 1973," reaffirmed when asked about the act which became the chief member of the PJ in Freemasonry.
- How was the ceremony?
- It was a simple ceremony. It was not hard. It was a rite called the orecchio teacher (teacher's ear).
Juan Domingo Perón leaned toward the Grand Master, who was waiting with the silver hammer, the apron at the waist and the band with the symbol illustrated ceremonial Freemason compass and square. When his mouth was near the ear of Licio Gelli, Perón gently parted lips and whispered in his ear. No one listened.
The secret passage was the way to be accepted. In Madrid, the head of Peronism crossed the initiation ceremony that would grant the Scottish Rite 33rd Degree and become a member of the Supreme Council of the famous lodge Propaganda Due (P2).
Gelli no hesitation about memories of four decades ago, despite his 89 years of age.
Few people in the world were linked to a number of conspiracies such as those given to the boss of the P2. The Italian parliamentary committee that investigated him saddled him with secret service contacts in 32 countries.
He was charged in 1971 participation in a coup attempt against the Italian government, in collusion with the secret services of the Army. He was also identified as a member of the international grouping anti Gladio, which are attributed to attacks in different countries.

We know, finally, that his first contact with Perón are before the election that he became president of Argentina in 1945. But their relationship became close during exile in Madrid.
In fact, Gelli Perón traveled on the plane that brought him back to Argentina and deployed its influence in the third Peronist government through the Social Welfare Minister, Jose Lopez Rega, Chancellor Alberto Vignes, and Cesar de la Vega , then the highest authority of Freemasonry in Argentina. Later, when Raul Alfonsin's government faced an onslaught to stop destabilizing the repressive processes that resulted in the laws of Full Stop and Due Obedience, Gelli was in the Río de la Plata, fugitive and European communication with their partners of the dictatorship. Just was extradited to Europe in early 1988.

Others, such as retired CIA agent Richard Brenneke, said that the P2 was finally a creation of the U.S. intelligence community to address the spread of communism in Italy.
After decades of silence, Gelli recently started to slide his secrets in dropper.

La voz de Licio Gelli llega del otro lado de la línea telefónica, desde su residencia de Villa Wanda, en la ciudad de Arezzo, Italia.
Suena avejentado, pero todo permanece en su mente como una sucesión de diapositivas: sus recuerdos sobre la Argentina, la forma en que conoció a Perón, el modo en que esparció su influencia sobre el tercer gobierno justicialista a través de la P2, sus acuerdos con la dictadura militar, sus años como prófugo de la justicia europea en el Río de la Plata.
Poder y oscuridad combinados en la memoria de un solo hombre.
“Perón era masón, yo lo inicié en Madrid, en Puerta de Hierro, en junio de 1973”, reafirma cuando se le pregunta sobre el acto por el que convirtió al jefe del justicialismo en miembro de la masonería.
— Cómo fue la ceremonia?
— Fue una ceremonia simple. No era difícil. Era un rito llamado al orecchio del maestro (al oído del maestro).
Juan Domingo Perón se inclinó hacia el Gran Maestre, quien lo esperaba con el martillo de plata, el mandil en la cintura y la banda ceremonial ilustrada con el símbolo masón del compás y la escuadra. Cuando su boca estuvo cerca de la oreja de Licio Gelli, Perón separó suavemente los labios y le susurró al oído. Nadie los escuchó.
El pasaje de secretos era la forma de ser aceptado. En Madrid, el jefe del peronismo atravesaba la ceremonia iniciática que le concedería el Grado 33 del Rito Escocés y lo convertiría en integrante del Consejo Supremo de la famosa logia Propaganda Due (P2).
Gelli no titubea sobre los recuerdos de cuatro décadas atrás, a pesar de sus 89 años de edad.
Pocos personajes en el mundo fueron vinculados a una cantidad semejante de conspiraciones como las atribuidas al capo de la P2. La comisión del Parlamento italiano que lo investigó le endilgó contactos con servicios secretos de 32 países.
Se le imputó en 1971 la participación en un intento de golpe de Estado contra el gobierno italiano, en connivencia con los servicios secretos del Ejército. Además fue identificado como miembro de la agrupación internacional anticomunista Gladio, a la cual se atribuyen atentados en diferentes países.
Investigaciones periodísticas lo asociaron también con la misteriosa muerte del papa Juan Pablo I y con el escándalo del Banco Ambrosiano, que terminó con el banquero Roberto Calvi colgado del puente Blackfriars de Londres.
En los tiempos de su exilio español, y antes de su tercer gobierno, Perón se valió de Gelli para reconstruir su vínculo con el Vaticano y para utilizarlo como nexo cuando intentaba recuperar el cadáver de Evita, que había sido ocultado en un cementerio de Milán con el nombre falso de María Magistris.
A la vez, Gelli desplegó en Argentina sus influencias a través de José López Rega, primero, y luego de sus aliados del Ejército, como el ex presidente de facto Roberto Viola y el jefe de los servicios secretos de la dictadura, Guillermo Suárez Mason. Cuatro décadas después, Gelli custodia en su memoria los secretos sombríos de la historia de Italia y de América latina.
En una serie de conversaciones con PERFIL desgranó parte de sus secretos: sus vínculos con Perón, su respaldo a Isabelita, la reunión masónica que encabezó Cámpora en la Casa Rosada y el contacto con los militares que dieron el golpe de 1976.
Gelli ofrece en sus respuestas retazos de recuerdos sobre sus años de poder, que permiten delinear la magnitud de la influencia que la Logia P2 tuvo en la Argentina, tanto en el gobierno de Perón como en la dictadura. Gelli corrobora la firma de un documento de tres páginas, rubricado en una reunión secreta con el dictador Roberto Viola, donde se acordó la colaboración entre la P2 y el gobierno militar, tal como se lo había revelado con anterioridad al periodista italiano Sandro Neri.
“Me acuerdo completamente de todo –agrega–. Del tiempo en que estaba Lanusse, de cómo trabajó para hacer una especie de referéndum, de la llegada de Héctor Cámpora, después del doctor Lastiri. Luego de Perón e Isabelita. Todo”, afirma.
El capo de la P2 responde también sobre su contacto con Isabel Perón.
—Usted habla todavía con Isabelita?
—Sí. Se encuentra en Madrid. Se casó.
—Se casó nuevamente?
—Sí. Pero no por Iglesia.
Se casó con un señor de muchos años.
—Cuál es el nombre?
—No. Lo que le dije es que es un señor de muchos años.
—Usted contó que, durante el gobierno de Perón se realizó una reunión de masones de diferentes lugares de América en la Casa Rosada.
—Sí. En la Casa Rosada hicimos una reunión histórica de todos los grandes maestros de toda América.
La presidió Cámpora. Yo, por supuesto, estuve presente.
—De qué se habló?
—Había grandes maestros de Argentina, Chile, de Uruguay, de Venezuela, de Brasil. Habían venido todos a la conferencia reservada realizada en los salones de la Casa Rosada.
Se sabe, finalmente, que sus primeros contactos con Perón son previos a las elecciones que lo transformaron en presidente de la Argentina en 1945. Pero su vínculo se volvió estrecho durante el exilio en Madrid.
En efecto, Gelli viajó con Perón en el avión que lo trajo de regreso a la Argentina y desplegó su influencia en el tercer gobierno peronista a través del ministro de Bienestar Social, José López Rega, el canciller, Alberto Vignes, y César de la Vega, por entonces máxima autoridad de la masonería en Argentina. En septiembre de 1973 el hombre de la P2 estuvo en Buenos Aires y fue condecorado por el líder del Justicialismo con la Orden del Libertador San Martín
Paralelamente, Gelli afianzó fuertes vínculos con los jefes militares que derrocarían al gobierno peronista, en especial Suárez Mason y Emilio Massera, quienes luego aparecerían en la lista de integrantes de la P2 secuestrada por la Justicia en Italia.
Más tarde, cuando el gobierno de Raúl Alfonsín enfrentaba una embestida desestabilizadora para frenar los procesos a los represores, que derivó en las leyes de Punto Final y Obediencia Debida, Gelli se encontraba en el Río de la Plata, prófugo de la justicia europea y en comunicación con sus socios de la dictadura. Recién fue extraditado a Europa a comienzos de 1988.
Licio Gelli también desgranó su pensamiento sobre la actualidad y expreso que el pueblo argentino no se comportó bien con Isabelita. No la trató bien. Ella hizo mucho para el pueblo argentino.
Cuando estaba el general Perón no existía la miseria que existe actualmente. En Argentina las cosas actualmente no van bien. Estaba mucho mejor cuando estaba Perón.
Incluso en Italia se estaba mejor cuando estaba el fascismo. Ahora es una ruina. La gente muere de hambre. Nápoles está sumergido en la basura. La gente no puede vivir con lo que gana. Las industrias no existen más, están todas cerradas. Están matando los negocios.
—Es cierto que muchas industrias italianas no pudieron enfrentar la competencia de China –acota Perfil para mantener el canal de diálogo abierto. Finalmente, después de los infinitos juegos de esquives, Gelli avanza hacia algunas definiciones políticas.
—China ocupó prácticamente toda Italia. Es una mala señal –dice.
— Y cómo cree que se puede invertir el proceso?
—Ahora es tarde, porque China es fuerte incluso militarmente. Además está aliada con India. En Italia no hay más trabajo. Los puestos de trabajo los administran los chinos. Rusia está contra los Estados Unidos. China e India están contra los Estados Unidos. Corea del Norte está contra los Estados Unidos. Todos los países árabes están contra Estados Unidos.
Los Estados Unidos están solos ahora.
América no tiene más la fuerza que tuvo alguna vez, ni la consideración que tuvo alguna vez. Perdió toda su confianza porque los Estados Unidos, como sucede actualmente, incluso vio devaluarse su moneda, el dólar. Antes el dólar dominaba el mundo.
Fue agente norteamericano durante los años de la Guerra Fría, cuando el anticomunismo sirvió como vaso comunicante entre Gelli y los servicios secretos de los Estados Unidos. El capo de Propaganda Due siempre negó ser un agente de la CIA pero reconoce sus vínculos con la derecha norteamericana.
Su nexo más estrecho fue Phil Guarino, quien integró los equipos de campaña de Ronald Regan y de George Bush y permitió que Gelli participara de la ceremonia de asunción de Richard Nixon. Otros, como el agente retirado de la CIA Richard Brenneke, aseguraron que la P2 era finalmente una creación de la inteligencia norteamericana para enfrentar el avance del comunismo en Italia.
Tras décadas de silencio, Gelli comenzó en los últimos tiempos a deslizar sus secretos en cuentagotas.
